SneakID uses AI to help sneakers lovers to find quickly the shoes they’re looking for from the top five global brands. The app identifies from a photo the brand, the model, the year of manufacture and the price of the shoes. Then, it automatically searches where you can find it, online or nearby. Eventually it offers a community to discuss the latest trends and give feedbacks on sneakers.
The idea to create my project popped up during a party with some friends. There, I’ve noticed a pair of sneakers that caught my eyes. I asked the owner where they came from, but he couldn’t answer, forcing me to search through the thousands of existing models to find them.
After hours of unsuccessful research, the idea came up to create an application that would allow me to find any pair of sneakers in the world. By taking a photo or adding one saved in my phone it would use artificial intelligence to give me the name of the model, where to buy it, and its initial/market price.
